Fuseware provides CFX_NNTP, a CFX tag that provides all NNTP to CF
connectivity you need. It is written directly to the RFC 977 and 1036, so
it provides all the functionality you would need to write a web based
newsreader using CF.

We are also working on a full NNTP application based on the tag that
implements all of the functionality you have been discussing. we have what
we think are some innovative ideas on how to work around many of the storage
and bandwidth issues while still providing the speed and flexibility of SQL.

We expect a beta copy to be shipping within the next couple of weeks. If
you would like more information, please let me know.

True. But my idea is to somehow utilise an existing Newsfeed, and for users
to control (limited) what is downloaded. Such huge storage isn't
necessarily necessary - as long as a link to a Newsfeed is there, I can't
see any reason why only `selected` items are downloaded...depending on the
use.
