Really if you think about it though, it's a good thing people don't read the manual. Otherwise, if it was easy to install and they didn't need to read up on it, then what would be the point of IT people? Think about it, the entire IT industry has flourished because people don't want (or have) the time to RTFM and do it themselves. Heck, the harder it is, the more money you'll probably make. So to MM, I say, ignore Stacy and go the opposite direction - start writing the manuals and setup screens in hieroglyphics. ;)

I'm sure if they read every single piece of literature on the subject once or twice then there wouldn't be any trouble at all. Unfortunately in the real world most folks go the "quick start" route...whether that's right or wrong is irrelevant. Early road blocks and frustrations can dampen the influx of new potential customers...I would think one of the goals is to make the path as easy as humanly possible. For a 1.0 release I think they've done a helluva job but if I were them I'd be looking for things to continuously improve on. (which I believe they are)... Or they just write on their front page. Got a problem, RTFM. :-) Stace -----Original Message----- From: Jochem van Dieten [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, August 19, 2002 5:18 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: MM Folks... One question: for which percentage of the things they encountered RTM would have enabled them to do it themselves?
