I was not able to use the archiving feature becuase i did not install that feature :(

However, i did follow Mike's advice and copied registry settings. I exported the
"Allaire" and "odbc" branches and then imported them into a second server.

While importing these into my second server did get all CF settings identical, it did
not quite work the same way with ODBC. i had to reenter the user name and password for
all odbc entries (SQL server). I also had to ensure all DSNs were using TCP/IP instead
of named pipes.

Other than this, it all worked very well. I saved a ton of time and most importnatly,
prevented errors. Now i know my settings are all IDENTICAL!!!

Thanks for everyone's help on this!

Andres

All servers have CF5 already installed.

All servers' OS have been configured the same (same drive letters, mappings,
etc)

I'll try copying the ODBC.ini and registry branches as you suggested to
another server, we'll see what happens :)

        thank you!

If the hardware is exactly the same for all the servers then you could
potentially look into PowerQuests Drive Image or maybe Norton's Ghost...

If the hardware is not the same then it depends on the CF Server...

CFMX (AFAIK) is all XML file based so assuming you install to the same
path then you could just copy the files...

CF5 however requires Registtry entries to be copied... So you could
potentially Export the registry branches that it creates in the
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section...

BUT... This will not cater for any files that are installed and
        registered in the System32 directories...

As for ODBC entries... These are stored in the registry under
        "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI" section

        HTH

        Hello all,
Does anyone know of a way to "clone", or copy the settings from one CF
server to another? I have to setup 5 servers. i would like to setup just
one up, test it, make sure it works the way i want it to work, and then
replicate these settings to the rest of the servers.

Some of the things to copy are:

        CF server settings
        ODBC entries

Any ideas will be most appreciated.

        Andres
