Good to know I can run both simultaneously...

Here's another question:  Am I right in understanding that
the trial version of CF MX becomes a single IP "developer's edition"
once the 30-day trial expires?

And Flash MX just stops functioning after 30 days?

It's something that you have to get used to, but I know many people who are
programmers, rather than designers, who use and like the Flash IDE.

That's right. You can have them both running at the same time. Of course,
you'll need to make sure that your machine has enough resources to run them
both simultaneously, but for development purposes, that's not a whole lot.
