Just because people do not complain about a topic, doesn't mean the topic is OT. Sure, it's my opinion that the topic of Yahoo using PHP has nothing to do with this list, but when you're talking about something that affects the community and how it relates to Macromedia, I think that is more on-topic than debating why Yahoo moved to PHP. I don't really care, but I don't want this topic removed. I just don't think it's fair to remove a topic that is so obviously important. I pointed out this correlation to compare this WAY OT thread to another thread that could've actually helped move toward a solution, or at least to get people at MM considering some options. But no options were presented, just "it's not fair we have to give a CC#" and "MM doesn't care" crap.
As far as I can tell, this list is about trying to figure out solutions to problems. Just because it wasn't a coding issue doesn't mean it wasn't a problem. Yahoo's move to PHP isn't a problem, it's a choice. > -----Original Message----- > From: Jeffry Houser [mailto:jeff@;farcryfly.com] > Sent: Wednesday, October 30, 2002 6:36 PM > To: CF-Talk > Subject: RE: OT:Yahoo moving to PHP > > > At 03:54 PM 10/30/2002 -0500, you wrote: > >You know, I had to laugh when I saw this topic because, unlike the topic > >Michael banned (the debate about Macromedia, bugs, whether they are > >listening to the community, etc.), this one has nothing to do > with anything. > >It's the same re-hash of CF defense against all the other > languages, yet it > >is allowed to propagate. > > No one complained yet.
