Not exactly a "solution" but here's what I did: - Create another email address for yourself such as [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Configure that email address so that it is not included in default mail checks. - Manually check the mail whenever you want to read the CFTalk email.
I do understand that most people don't necessarily have control over their mail servers and/or are limited to one email account.
