Wow, Blue Screen on 2K and NT? That sounds like a problem bigger than Jedit/Java.

There are some problems on MacOSX with JDK 1.4.x but that's because Apple hasn't finished up their Java 1.4.x implementation - still a preview release. Haven't put 1.4.x on Linux yet, but it's running fine for me under Windows.
