To follow-up on this issue, I was able to reproduce this. It only occurs when 
upgrading from a previous version of CF (version 5 in my testing, and I chose to 
migrate my settings). Purging from the registry still works correctly, it's only data 
sources that are affected.

Removing it as a defined client store and then re-adding it (making sure to unselect 
the option for creating the tables) straightens it out and the purges work correctly.

I've logged this as bug 49732.

By the way... Deb, if you're reading this... I asked the second client today
if their CFMX installation was an upgrade from CF5 and they told me it was.
So perhaps the issue has something to do with CF5 to CFMX upgrades?  I have
a clean install of CFMX here and don't seem to have any issues with
CDATA/CGLOBAL cleanup.
