Actually, FB3 is quite nice. I've started using it extensively. As for the Java size limitation, remember that FB3 was created before CFMX was around, so no one could really have seen that. I would also say that FBMX should use something similiar to Struts, where controller information is kept within a XML file.
And, as with any framework, there are limitations that may or may not matter to you.
