I meant I have installed CF about 10 times before in previous versions,
at different clients. This is the first time I've installed CFMX.

I have installed this copy and uninstalled it a dozen times now. I have
had two people doing a remote desktop on my system and neither of them
can see why I have jrun installed and running but nothing can attach to
it.

No one can explain why I can set up CFMX to run on its own server, but
not connect to IIs, and I can't create a new virtual directory in the
internal web server for IIs.

I'm all ears if anyone can come up with a new answer.

I have installed, removed reinstalled, rebooted, regedited and removed
all registry entries till I'm blue in the face. And not only that,
Chris Kief lookd my system over too and he is stumped.

It's now 3.17am Monday, and I started doing this job on Friday night at
9pm. I haven't been working continuously on it, but a substantial part
of the intervening period has been spent on trying to make this thing
go.

So yes, I'm annoyed. And I'm not sorry for that either. But I'm not
annoyed at the people on this list. Just at this CFMX that wont do what
it should do and I can't find out why.

Cheers,

if you have installed it seamlessly 10 times before, doesnt that tell
you
that it maybe something that you are doing or that you have done or
changed
to your comp?
99% of the time it's user error.
and given that it has worked before, umm, well I guess its not the
product
that is broken.

whenever i have come up with any problems with dwmx it has been the
result
of the IIS not dwmx or coldfusion.

In which case i have found the best and quickest answer was to uninstall
IIS
and reinstall and its fine.
if its that big a deal then just reinstall windows & I bet it will be
fine.
I reinstall windows every few months just too keep my machine fresh and
its
not that big a deal to do.
