Yes, it should be.  That is why step 1 of the procedure is to make a 
backup of your config file so that it's easy to put back if necessary.  
I tried it with updater 3 already installed and it worked nicely.  This 
is clearly not the perfect solution (as both you and Sean have shown), 
but it does work.
