I would think 10% was remarkably high.
yes, an interesting point. One of the hallmarks of Fusebox (CF or PHP or ASP or otherwise) is that its structure lets average developers produce above average results. Now, just about any decent framework will help you down that road, so it doesn't particularly have to be Fusebox; it can certainyl be something home-grown. And if you're a one-man shop then ANY planned solution that makes you happy will likely help you out. Most solo develoeprs eventualyl want to work on big projects, though. And for corporations and governmental work, the advantages lie in the public standardization, the savings in long-term planning and training, and in Fusebox's adaptability to their local needs without having to customize it without creating dependencies on "guruness" or "secret sauce". let's face it: if you're a Dinowitz or a Corfield or a Liotta, you don't *need* Fusebox, cuz you're bright and you've got a million other tricks in your arsenal. But what about the other 199,997 CF'ers? The best bet they have to get to the point where they can pick and choose the framework that suits them best is to use a known, standardized framework that solidifies sound practices. Fuseboxers also seem to have a bit easier time making the transition to Java. Now, that could be because FB'ers are more eager, or brighter or a million other reasons, or it could also be that Fusebox gently introduces some overall concepts that make later learning of core OO principles fall onto slightly more fertile soil. Anyway, the point is pretty much as riskless trade: you can never hurt yourself by knowing too much in this field, and knowing Fusebox just gives you that many more choices in moving your career forward. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=4 FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq This list and all House of Fusion resources hosted by CFHosting.com.
