Just as an example, Internet Explorer 6 for the PC uses the Mac Internet Explorer rendering engine. This, of course, does not mean that Mac Internet Explorer 5.x is equivalent to the PC Internet Explorer version 6.x (which did come out later). However, they are a much closer pedigree than the 5.x versions as far as HTML rendering goes.
