True, cflogin is there to do something - make sure a piece of code (any code) is executed when user is not found to be logged in. However, cflogin is not needed for the security to work, in fact my recomendation is taken from
"Certified Coldfusion MX Developer Study Guide" By Ben Forta page 192 at the top. However, I admit that I never tried to use cfloginuser by itself since all of our users have cookies enabled and if they don't, then we tell them to do enable them.
