It's great, especially if you make a lot of changes. It keeps track of all of the changes for you and you never have to worry about storing back-ups of files or anything like that. You can group a bunch of files together, git it a label, and delete the files from your website -- they'll still be in the sourcesafe database and if you need to rollback you can, very easily.
The point is not for the end user, but for the developer to make the development process easier. It becomes espeically useful with teams of developers.
