That depends on your clients. I learned that the hard way years
ago when I implemented the local format somewhere and the
secretaries cursed me for doing that. They had been using a
yyyy-mm-dd format in their paper archive and insisted on the
electronic format following what they already had on paper.
But I suppose that happens more often in an international
environment as with a local client (the company operated in 7
countries and used English, Thai, Chinese and Filipino internally).
