As good as an argument as this is, take a look at Samba. In benchmarked
tests, Samba has beaten Windows 2000 and 2003 as a windows file server.
It's up to 2.5 times faster than native windows natively serving native
windows files to native windows clients.
Is ADO.NET better than our current JDBC drivers? Could be. Will it
always be? I wouldn't bet on it.
