Dunno about MS platform, but Linux works juuust fine. My current project:

Dev box : Intel Itanium, Red Hat ES3 64-bit
Target box: Dual AMD Opteron, Red Hat ES3 64-bit

CFMX J2EE deployed on JBoss 3.2.5 w/ Tomcat 5
64-bit Sun JVM
64-bit MySQL

Talk about faaaaaaaast. :D
