The best starter book is a WROX book called Beginning ASP Databases. It
is well written, is written as a tutorial and covers all the most
important pitfalls in doing "basic ASP".

Hi all..
yes yes..I know this is about as far off topic as one can get, but I
know a
lot of you program in both ASP and Coldfusion.
I know Coldfusion, and I know Visual Basic, and MS Access.
With that in mind, what would be a good book/resource to check to begin
to
learn to do the things that come so easily in CF, in ASP =)
