Offhand? Um, low-level (atomic) tcp/ip and udp/ip functionality similiar my
cfx_tcpclient tag. If we had that then it wouldn't matter if allaire screws
up the cfhttp tag, etc. We could limp along with our own cf_cfhttp versions
until they get the higher-level stuff working. Would do away with the need
for cfx_tcpclient and a few others of my tags (such as cfx_nicname) and be
cross-platform compatible as well.
Full binary file abilities & ability to read/write text lines or blocks of n
bytes at n position, etc. You can ALMOST, but not quite, write
cfx_imageinfo, cfx_audioinfo, etc using cf.
There are some others, most of which have been mentioned in a few other
posts I just read. A sizeof (ram used) for all variables would be very
useful.
After being bugged for it I put in an a server UpTime variable for
cfx_networktopology so someone could tell how long it's been since cfserver
restarted. Little things like that I like.
AH. Almost forgot. The ability to form post to a cf page and have cf
determine the size of the file BEFORE the upload. ie, an optional byte
cutoff limit for file upload.

I tend to see it as diluting the need for cold fusion by preparing everyone
to migrate to a java-only platform. After using the training wheels of cf,
everyone here will begin to become adapt at java. And after a while... :) It
creates a bridge to an essentially free open-source solution.
Potentially very double-plus ungood for stock holders long-term if handled
incorrectly.
