VMWare is an incredible product in which you can create virtual operating systems within your workstation. GSX Server can instantiate and deploy those instances. It is a great application that I recommend to any network administrator.
It is particularly useful if you want to test network configurations before actually implementing them. The virtual machines are even seen on the network as independent platforms... Again..
