Well, I have to sell CF against JSP/Servlets in the company where I work, and I don't think MM is doing *that* great a job. Most people working in corporate IT (developers and managers) think of CF as a kind of "kiddie toy". IMHO, MM needs to put up some serious success stories and case studies, not only on the MM site but also on influential sites like theserverside.com (search that site for coldfusion... friggin' tragic).
I know from many years of personal experience that CF and CFML are one of the fastest platforms/languages to build web applications on, and I don't think I need to convince anybody here about that. Thing is, I get paid by the day, so there's a limit to how long and hard I'm going to fight when my employer wants to use more complicated technologies with longer development times... /t >-----Original Message----- >From: Dave Carabetta [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Sent: Friday, February 25, 2005 4:53 PM >To: CF-Talk >Subject: Re: CFMX Development Speed > >On Fri, 25 Feb 2005 16:40:44 +0100, Micha Schopman ><[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> Even if that information could be misinterpreted, Macromedia has a >> problem.
