<rant> I came from a PHP background and found CF to be SOO Frustrating. Why?? Cause i was so set in my ways of thinking with PHP etc. BUT once i got past this (lots of long hours and many kicks in the rear) i'm a happy little CF'er.
I was a CF'er in a JAVA shop in my last job. I was "allowed" to continue with CF as long as i "planned" for a future migration to JAVA. (this was before i fully understood the CFMX / JAVA relationship). So i took a SUN Java Class to appease the powers that be, and actually found that my CF skills helped me to grasp the java concepts and basic's MUCH more rapidlly versus others in the same class. It also spurred me to dive deeper into the CFMX / JAVA world, so much to the point that i convinced my then employeer to fully support the CF stuff and work towards the two camps (java and cf) utilitzing one another rather than replaceing me. I'm a self taught CF'er but thanks to a great community and co-workers i'm getting better with every passing day!!! </rant> jonese On Wed, 2 Mar 2005 09:42:32 -0800, Bryan Stevenson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hey Rick....I have a business degree....so I hear ya on the > self-taught...but I started my CF career back with 3.1 and a former member > of Team Allaire to help me on my way ;-) > > Bryan Stevenson B.Comm. > VP & Director of E-Commerce Development > Electric Edge Systems Group Inc. > phone: 250.480.0642 > fax: 250.480.1264 > cell: 250.920.8830 > e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > web: www.electricedgesystems.com > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:4:197146 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:4 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
