For what it's worth I've had the exactly opposite experience.  They seem
very communicative to me: scheduled maintenance is communicated well,
problems are (generally) communicated well (I say "generally" just because I
thought last months email problem could have been handled better).

There have been problems and CT does tend recommend .NET to fix CF problems
(a peeve of mine - as if switching to a language you've no experience with
is going to fix problems).  But overall I've found them very responsive,
willing to compromise and of generally excellent quality.

Yes - I've had problems, but nothing I would consider markedly awful.
