(snickers at causing trouble)

You get what you pay for...

I moved my email to a new server yesterday, from one provider to another.

The previous host suffered from many of the same issues you're
expressing frustration about here... from a crappy attitude toward
their own performace all the way to heinously poor support.

I have moved, and will continue to move my clients to
DigitalNorth.net. Their focus is entirely on *premium enterprise-class
performance.*

During my move, a critical factor was overlooked and email began to
bounce when people would send me things. I sent an email to our sales
rep and the Director of Operations... within 5 minutes I had a
response, requesting a phone call to resolve the issue. I called them,
and the *Director of Operations* hung out on the phone with me until I
was able to successfully send a test message from my Gmail account to
the domain in question.

You get what you pay for...

Additionally, DN is working with me to craft some smaller packages.
Right now they have primarily higher-end packages... within a couple
weeks there should be some less-expensive scaled-back offerings as
well.

It is my avowed intention to point as many people toward the best
solutions I know. I do it with my clients, and I'll do it with my
peers. I can't think of another hosting company that takes a view of
its clietelle like DigitalNorth.

For a case study of my experiences on a high-end platform with them,
see this entry on my blog:

For more information on their services, see http://www.digitalnorth.net.

Ask for Lisa, tell her Jared sent you. ;) Or, alternatively, email me
offlist and I'll Hook You Up. :D

Laterz,
J
