> How are other shops doing it? Each workstation has a CF developer edition installed, the source is kept in a global repository and accessed via source safe. The central dev server has a mapping to the global repository to for full 'pre-live' testing but each developer can check out code and work on it independently to each other. When they check back in, then the code is in 'pre-live' environment and the developers will get an updated version for their machines when they perform a 'get all' function in source safe.
No files are edited directly on the central dev server as this would break the procedures we have. Also, the one golden rule is no double check outs by two developers on a single file.... That is just way too much hassle....
