That wasn't in direct responce to you Dave, it's in general and I don't think you can say that you are an "average" user ;)
I went from windows/linux to a mac pretty effortlessly, the only real issues I have had are the constant subconcious naggings to run the system cleaners, run spyware removers, scan for viruses and rebooting all the time.
