Microsoft has $61 billion in cash. Not stock. Not valuation. Not borrowed 
money. Cash. They have to spend it on something. Given the way they have 
benefited from the PC revolution and their serendipitous rise to domninance, 
they should sponsor every computing event everywhere in the world, both to give 
back to the community and to give themselves every opportunity to understand 
where the industry is going.
