I would tend to agree with Jim. I suspect the marketing decisions in this case are based largely on their antiscipation of the impact of different types of marketing on their sales. If they antiscipate little response (in terms of sales) from "flashy" adds for ColdFusion (which is doing well sales-wise with other types of marketing), in comparison to "flashy" adds for ... well Flash... then I think it makes sense to spend the marketing resources in the way that will get them the most sales.
