We're (FINALLY!) trying to upgrade from CF 4.5 to CF MX 7 (predicated by a required move from NT 4.0 - so CF is seen as a huge pain in the ass by management... just so you know).
In any case the new machines will actually be virtual machines running on large enterprise farms. This is where the issue is coming in: although we're going to install CF on these virtual machines (which have processors, one or two, dedicated to them) the word we're getting from our infrastructure guys is that MM is demanding that licenses be purchased for the PHYSICAL box (up to 64 processors), not the VIRTUAL box. This just seems plain wrong to me. I know every is having trouble with licensing to VMs nowadays... but com'on! Anybody else seen this? Have the same problem?
