It's like anything in life. People bitch about the things other people do even though it has no effect whatsoever on them or their life. Which generally means their own life is so sad and boring that they need to poke their nose into other peoples.
There are a lot of things in life I do not agree with, and a lot of things other people do that I don't like. But unless it directly affects me I couldn't give a hoot what anyone does. I personally don't drink much (anymore) and I can't stand to be around drunk people, so the answer is quite simple, I simply don't go to the pub, don't hang around with drunk and then stand there bitching about it. Perhaps Fred is also one of these people that hates sex and violence on TV, but sits there watching it and then writes in to complain about it.
