Dave, Obviously, asking any M$ oriented guy about a viable alternative to .NET is going to generate a negative response. The reality of mono it has grown up.
Google is getting on board with mono.. Check out some facts here: http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-mono/ Some of the things I appreciate about mono are: 1. runs on a better, thinner OS that is light years ahead of M$ bloat ware 2. open source (much faster product evolution and completely customizable in the event you want changes) 3. responsibly versions itself which offers an insurance policy against the typical Microsoft behavior of deprecating entire languages in the name of OSes upgrades. If you haven't heard / don't know about VMWare, you should check it out. Installing OSes directly on hardware is a thing of the 90s. Check out the ESX platform: http://www.vmware.com/products/vi/esx/ Warmest Regards, Phillip B. Holmes http://phillipholmes.com -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
