I always feel like a company who forces me to speak with a sales rep to see what they have to offer is not very confident in their product's ability to sell itself. They know they need to put on the pressure if anyone's going to actually buy it, so they're not about to let you see it without someone there to apply that pressure. I think it usually comes down to that or to pure laziness, neither of which makes me want to get into business with an organization.
