Dave,

Perhaps the verity search service is not running. Go to the services control
panel on the server and make sure it is running.

Subject: Help! Verity collections have disappeared

Hello!

All of a sudden this morning our verity collections on our server have
disappeared. We are running MX 6.1. When trying to search a collection we
get this error:

Could not create instance of tag handler class
coldfusion.tagext.lang.CFSearchTag:
coldfusion.server.ServiceFactory$ServiceNotAvailableException: The Verity
service is not available..

When looking in CF Administrator at the collections page we get this error:

You must configure your application server to enable Verity. For
instructions, see "Configuring ColdFusion MX" in the "Installing
and Using ColdFusion MX" book for your application server.

We have followed instructions at Adobe tech note:

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19115

However, the .dll file mentioned there is where it is supposed to be. We
haven't changed anything on the server since the collections were working
last night.

Anyone have any ideas? We've restarted CF and even rebooted the server, but
no help.

Thanks!

Dave
