Well, the FTP in the File Explorer seems to do just what you and I are 
looking for; open one file at a time via FTP to edit and save.

If only I can get my damn FTP server to send it in a way the CFE doesn't 
interpret as read-only.

Was there other issues with the File Explorer FTP implentation that I'm 
missing?
