I truly doubt that it will perpetually be in beta. I think that, like most other OS projects, those that are working on it are doing so mostly unfunded and on their own time, supporting their families by holding down paying positions or full time contracting jobs.
It's difficult to have a steady release cycle when you aren't being paid for your efforts (lots of fame, little fortune). He doesn't chime in too often (because he's very busy), but Mark Drew pays a lot of attention to what all of us developers have to say about CFEclipse. What we like and dislike, features we would like to see, anticipating our future wants and needs, etc. I give him, and everyone else contributing to CFEclipse, a lot of credit for continuing the work on this product, knowing that they gain nothing but our respect and appreciation (and maybe a visit to their wishlists). I know that, over time, we will still see fantastic advances in CFEclipse.
