Supply and demand is exactly it.

If they like the size of the conference at 1000... and they think they 
can still get 1000 people there at $200 more a person.. then that's 
economic theory at it's finest.

If only 800 people show up... then we'll truly see that economic theory 
applied to the 2008 pricing.

At any rate, maybe the hotel raised prices.  Maybe teratech wants to 
spend more money on a "special event" (though certainly nothing like 
what Adobe did for MAX!).  Who knows.
