I think you need to expand on what you're asking. (You are asking a question, right?)
Putting data into a database is simple enough with CF, but you need a way to provide CF with the data in the first place. The scanner should have documentation of some sort which explains how it can provide the data - what protocols it might use, what format the data with be in, etc. Check that, and once you know how the data is coming in, then someone can probably help with how to put it into the DB. > I am needing to do something where the client takes a document (with a > barcode) to a location (with a barcode), scan the doc then scan the > location and it be added to the DB.
