Because it's not a "text editor". You can't just double click a file and start typing. You have to set up projects, access and all that jazz. IMO the things that make it strong, also make it very difficult to learn. I installed and uninstalled it 4 or 5 times before I finally made the decision to just jump in and use it exclusively.
