Windows' security problems, past and present, have nothing to do with the Windows kernel, and everything to do with userland functionality. The fact that, for a long time, you needed administrative rights to run many applications; the fact that, outside of the enterprise, most people logged in with administrative accounts - those are the problems with Windows security. And I haven't seen any popups with twenty questions on them. I've been running Vista on multiple computers, one since RC1. Considering that you were running Vista in Parallels, solely to use IE7, how much time exactly did you spend with it before you threw it away?
