Just a side note but you can most likely still activate XP. They just want you 
to call to do so. (or use one of the other keys they give you if you haven’t 
activated them as many times) I haven’t heard anything about them not 
allowing you to activate XP because Vista FINALLY arrived in the action pack 
updates and I've activated a couple times since then.

No doubt Vista is a pain, but CFE does run on Vista. Had to reinstall XP from 
our Microsoft Action Pack, but when Vista came out we could not active XP any 
more and were forced to upgrade.
