as i say... it may have changed (or i could be flat out wrong).  but i
remember buying licenses for a company i used to work for... upgrading
from 5 to 6.  i wanted to use the exact setup dale mentions (dev
editions on dev and stg servers), and was explicitly told 'no' by
macromedia.

they said even though the dev and stg servers were internal and would
only be accessed by the 2 developers, it was a violation of the
developer edition license.  developer edition was for workstations
only, and not meant to be on *any* server (and of course, here the
definition of "server" comes heavily into play).
