Hi Adam, Thanks for voicing your concerns about MyEclipse. We are always happy to get feedback on our product to make sure we are offering our users what they need. You mentioned that MyEclipse has gotten slower and heavier; you may try using SNAPs, which was rolled out with MyEclipse 5.5. Snaps allows you to use each of the following features without launching the entire MyEclipse program: HTML Editor, XML Editor, Database tooling and Image Editor. Each of these is fully integrated with Windows and can stand alone outside of MyEclipse.
You also mentioned having a large team. I'd like to encourage you to try Pulse 2.0. Pulse is free service by Genuitec, and it allows you to share your tools effortlessly with your team.
