I love Gmail in an almost unnatural way, so it pains me to say this, but yes, there is often a delay for Gmail users. And it's not just your list, other lists have this problem too. I get messages out of order occasionally too, which is a bit disconcerting sometimes, but it's just the way things are - there's so much filtering, etc, going on at Google.
