OK, one big reason;
Once ODBC gets hold of an Excel spreadsheet as a datasource, it won't let go
of it, so if you need to replace it then you have to Stop/Start the server
to be able to upload/download it...
It's a lot easier to make a Link table and let Access handle the source
Another reason to not use Excel as a read datasource is that it decides what
type of column the data is by reading the top rows, then that whole column
MUST be that type - if it decides it's numeric, then text entries are
ignored (and the other way around)
