I'm working on such a system but, it's not ready for release at this time.
On a side note, Windows NT/2000 Magazine publishes an archive CD of their
magazine a couple of times a year. Up until a couple of years ago all the
content had a .cfm extension and allowed dynamic searches on the content
contained on the CD. This was possible even if no network connection
existed. My presumption at the time was they had figured out a way to
locally execute CFML but, despite queries to Allaire, Windows NT/2000 Mag,
and this list, no one could/would give me an answer as to how this was
accomplished, if at all. The CD now uses different technology so I don't
have anything to experiment with. Maybe you could find more information than
I was able to.
Regards,
Steve

they still have to install CF on the users machine.
but after that you can run the code from a CD

I have a client who would like to put their data driven website on a CD and
basically have the website run from the CD and not depend on the user's
computer for anything (except for the web browser). Is there a way
implement this without recoding the website for CD? It would be great to
somehow get Cold Fusion Server and a web server to interact with a database
all from the CD and then auto run the CD to load the index file in their
browser. Wishful thinking?
