The list is monitored by both the admin (myself) as well as all of
you. If
there's a problem you know my address and you know who to contact. I
really
dislike banning any subject, blocking any person or coming in as a
parent
for the lists. We're all adults and professionals here (mostly
anyway).
We're also a community. If someone posts something that's a problem,
the
community usually polices itself very well as we've seen in the past.
There
have been very few times that I have had to come in and ban something
or
someone. I'm very happy with the situation. It has led to most OT
posts
going to CF-Community as well as the creation of other specialized
lists.
As we saw from the situation in question, someone saw the post and
reported
it. From there, I was called and I talked to the poster and the SS as
well
as the list. While I was doing my thing, the community got in and the
poster
realized his error and publicly apologized. If the SS wasn't called
in then
the whole thing would have been policed totally internally. Either
way, it
was resolved quite well and should be dropped.
Actually, it may cause some SS guys to get on the list to monitor it
and
they'll get into CF. :)
