Look friends, if we have learned anything from Allayer's move to Java it is
that CFML is not hard. It is not difficult. It is not complex. I'm not
saying you will be coding a mega site in less then a month, but it is easy
enough to learn. Nowadays there are many many CF references out there to
help everyone from beginner to expert. That's right. Experts don't know
everything, but they do know when they need more information and they know
where to get it. I would recommend buying a few books like Ben's or the one
from Wrox or Oreilly. If you are going to do any database work pick up a
copy of Ben's SQL in 10 minutes (I think that's the title). Good intro to
generic SQL.
Good luck,

|Grab Ben Forta's books, put aside several weeks (nights and w/es if
|necessary) and work your way through them.
|
|If possible, don't just write out the code listings in the
|books... have an additional project that you have an interest
|in and incorporate into that what you learn from each chapter, too.
|
|FWIW, I don't think you *really* need to do the courses if
|you're determined to learn (although I can't say that with any
|authority as I haven't gone on one).
