I stopped short on this subject, as most developers would be aware that
anything off this scale would take time to implement. After don't you
developers have to deal with this in your own work!

Give MM a go, it is a major overhaul that can not go without some
hiccups :-)

Subject: Re: Macromedia's destruction of the Allaire Site...

We announced this downtime in our forums and I did not do so here. It
was
my fault that an announcement wasn't made. I will after this note.

Now in our defense, the whole web team at MM *IS* the old Allaire team
and
it is being DIRECTLY run by Jeremy Allaire and none other. Please lets
just
end the MM vs Allire stuff, it is pure fantasy.

What are we doing taking the site down?

The downtime is not to do any small maintenance, it is a complete switch

off of Broadvision to a different ECRM system. No one here was happy at
all
with bringing so much functionality down for that long, but it has to be

done in this case. Most of the site is fine, but anything that has to do

with membership is down and that is the problem you all are running
into.

If you have been to the Exchange and ever tried to download an
extension,
you are familiar with some of the pain that our customers were going
through. This switch is one of many that will lead to us using CF for
all
the parts of our site and that is a good thing and frankly is more
important for you on this list than any other MM customer segment as it
will help you point to a large site that is build entirely with MM
products.

Please have patience with us and know that we are not just doing dumb
things like this for no reason.
