I was under the impression that OO methodology is relatively new
(mid-late 80s) and became very popular when Bjorn Strausstroup (sp?)
came out with his C for Classes (better known as C++)

Oh, I don't think so. While they've both been around for quite a while,
procedural programming still predates OO by decades, I'd guess. It's
worth
noting that, from a CS point of view (and I'm not a CS grad, so you'll
have
to take this with a grain of salt) there haven't really been too many
innovations in the core concepts of programming for a very long time.
